The PG Bison 1.618 Competition was created over two decades ago. The competition was started 23 years ago to recognise the future interior and industrial designers, architects and key decision makers in the South African construction industry. The competition has come to be known for the status it offers its winners, and also for the custom-defying brief given to the students each year.
The competition, culminates in a swanky awards ceremony each year, and has established itself as an integral part of the syllabus at the majority of institutions across the country, including Potchefstroom Academy. The South African Institute of Interior Design Professions (IID) have given the competition and awards full accreditation.
This year Potchefstroom Academy were contacted to assist with the hair styling requirements for the awards evening. The concept was based on Capitol Couture. Each of the 10 finalists were allocated a district, the same as the movie, The Hunger Games. Each district was allocated a name and a colour.
Models were chosen to accompany the finalists. Our team did the styling from 8:30 the morning of the event. After the photoshoot more touch-ups were done to ensure the finalists looked amazing for the evening’s event. Thank you to Joelene, Mart-Mari and Bianka for being true ambassadors for our institution.
