THE OAK TREE CELEBRATES FORTY

Potchefstroom Academy and SAAHST

This year we celebrate the 40th year of existence for Potchefstroom Academy. Forty years of growing and developing into the strong institute that we are today.

Similar to the oak trees surrounding Potchefstroom, the Academy has overcome many storms, winds and freezing winters. From the first day that we opened our doors, we have not once lost heart, but kept on adding new qualifications and improving our infrastructure to create a comfortable learning place for our students.

We cannot even begin to talk about this amazing journey, without mentioning our driving force, Mrs Tina Schöltz. Mrs Schöltz established Potchefstroom Academy in 1981 with a vision in mind to give the youth a platform in which they can grow, learn and become the entrepreneurs of the future.

As a master in entrepreneurship, which is proven by numerous awards including being listed as the Madison’s Who is Who, Tina together with her management team is constantly investigating new ideas and leading new projects, resulting in the tremendous progression and expansion of the Academy.

In 2003, Tina Schöltz acquired SAAHST, a Further Educational provider, which means that students from both institutions, Potchefstroom Academy and SAAHST, benefit from access to the shared facilities, resources and expertise.

To this day, the vision of Potchefstroom Academy still stands tall as to develop viable careers and the training of entrepreneurs, designers, therapists, technicians and media professionals in service of the country and its people.

We can however not look back on 40 years without recognising each and every person involved, an institution is just as strong as the people holding it up.

Over the past 40 years, Potchefstroom Academy’s management, experienced lecturing teams and support staff, possessed an intimate understanding of providing our students with a unique classroom experience, which is stimulating, interactive, and industry relevant. They offered their skills, expertise and patience to nurture the little acorns that the Academy offered. Turning them into industry professionals ready to enter the labour market and start their careers.

Today we can proudly say that we have the best staff in our corner, they are the pillars that the students admire. Thank you to our Potchefstroom Academy family for walking this journey with us. We could not have done it without you!

This year we celebrate the 40th year of existence for Potchefstroom Academy.
